Spring Refresh: 5 Ways to Bring Hospitality into Your Home this Spring
Spring is the perfect time to refresh not only our homes but also our mindset around hospitality. As the days grow longer and flowers begin to bloom, I see this as an opportunity to embrace the season’s sunshine and open our homes to warmth, connection, and joy!
I love tending to our garden in the morning, cutting fresh flowers to bring inside. I’ve noticed that the more flowers I cut, the more flowers bloom. It’s good for the plant, and it’s good for me, too.
Here are simple ways I refresh my home and welcome guests with a touch of springtime hospitality.
1. Brighten Up Your Space with Seasonal Decor
I like to swap out heavy winter decor for light, airy, and cheerful elements. Using pastel colors, fresh flowers, and natural textures brings a sense of freshness. A simple vase of tulips or daffodils on the entryway table instantly welcomes guests.
With Easter just around the corner, consider incorporating soft pastels, fresh florals, or even a simple cross or bunny figurine to reflect the season. And for golf lovers, a touch of green—perhaps a fresh plant or even Masters-inspired décor—brings a nod to one of spring’s most iconic traditions.
2. Refresh Your Table Setting
Spring is the season of gathering! Set your table with floral-patterned dishes, pastel napkins, or even handmade place cards to make meals feel special. Whether hosting an Easter brunch or a casual get-together, an inviting table encourages connection. For golf enthusiasts, consider incorporating elements inspired by The Masters, such as green accents reminiscent of Augusta fairways.
I always, always, ALWAYS keep my table set, ready for a delightful moment. No one is impressed by how fancy things are—they will remember how it felt to be there and how nice it was to be invited.
3. Scent Matters: Incorporate Fresh, Light Fragrances
I open windows to let in fresh air and swap out my winter candles for scents like green grass and citrus which adds a lovely touch.
4. Bring the Outdoors In or Simply Move the Gathering Outside ☀️
Spring is all about nature coming back to life. I love opening our windows in the morning and incorporating fresh-cut flowers around our home to liven up our space. A beautiful seasonal wreath on the front door creates a welcoming first impression.
With warmer days ahead, take advantage of the season! Whether it’s an Easter egg hunt with the kids, a picnic under the blooming trees, or soaking in the excitement of Masters week with friends, there’s no shortage of ways to celebrate spring.
5. Offer a Small Takeaway Gift
Hospitality is about making people feel special long after they leave our home.
This can be a friend stopping by to leave with a tea bag or baked good or sending the men doing some work in our yard with a word of thanks which can make a lasting impression! Sincere appreciation goes a long way.
Spring is the season of renewal and joy—why not extend that to our homes and the people who walk through our doors?
